China Central Television (CCTV) began their Chinese New Year broadcasting the “2017 Spring Festival Gala” live on January 27th using Ross Video’s Furio RC. The CCTV Spring Festival Gala is an integral part of Chinese New Year celebrations, carrying a special meaning for many in China. The broadcast has a yearly viewership of over 700 million viewers, making it one of the premier television events of China.

Bubble Production enabled the internationally renowned festival to go ahead in a digital format for the first time in its 71 year history. Riedel Communications today announced that Chinese Television System (CTS) relied on a Riedel intercom solution to support its live production of the 2020 Taipei New Year’s Eve Party, hosted at the Taipei City Hall Square. Broadcast live by CTS on its flagship channel and on its news channels, the seven-hour broadcast included multiple Taiwanese star performances, with an impressive New Year’s Eve countdown lighting up the iconic Taipei 101 skyscraper and a stunning five-minute fireworks display. The show at Taipei City Hall is growing bigger and more spectacular every year and recently ranked among CNN’s Top 10 places to spend New Year's Eve.

Since 1954, the Institute has hosted weekly outdoor concerts at a country park in Chopin’s birthplace, Zelazowa Wola, offering performances featuring the world’s most prominent classical musicians. Due to this year’s restrictions on live events, the decision was taken to bring the concerts online, with pianists performing in the park’s manor house and streamed via YouTube Live. Live production specialist, Transmisjelive has been responsible for the recitals’ live production for several years, and helped to make the move to an online production format. “As well as moving to an indoor and more intimate location, we also had to manage social distancing requirements,” explains Transmisjelive’s Artur Kuszel. “We reduced the number of personnel on site to a minimum, both for filming in the performance room and in the OB vehicle on site, kept all gear disinfected and made sure the room was well ventilated.”
