Opus Arte chooses Arqiva for Royal Opera House Digital Cinema Distribution
Opus Arte has chosen Arqiva to relay all its upcoming live feeds from the Royal Opera House to North America and Western and Eastern Europe reaching more than 300 “live-equipped” screens with opera and ballet titles – these include The Royal Opera’s Cosi fan tutte on Friday 10 September 2010 and Macbeth in June 2011 as well as The Royal Ballet’s Giselle on Wednesday 19 January 2011. Arqiva has been working closely with the Royal Opera House for many years to relay other live opera events such as the BP Summer Big Screens, an annual programme of live relays to sites throughout the UK.

Always on the move: travelling up to 5,700 km with the German team
Our team comprising Martin Hofstetter and Steffen Schäfer have covered around 5,700 kilometres across South Africa in their HD-SNG on their “Mission Black-Red-Gold”. The steady speed they travel at belies the tight timescale of their assignment: their objective is to reach each new venue at least one day ahead of the German team despite travelling at an average speed of 50 km/h as a result of the condition of the South African roads.

Sogecable at the FIFA World Cup 2010
With an overall crew of 80 – 40 technicians and production personnel at the IBC, 20 at the Spanish National Team training camp and ten two-man ENG crews – Sogecable can certainly be said to have a presence at this tournament. “The main work is, of course, sending the live matches back to Spain, which we are doing across six fibre optic lines – two in HD and four in SD,” explains Alberto Arrillaga Imaz, Technical Manager for Sogecable, “however, on top of this, we are producing a lot more content.”
