This includes two HD SNGs; two SD SNGs; one HD&SD Production SNG truck; two TVROs; and an HD flyaway. Riedel Scores at the Eurovision Song Contest

 More than 120 million viewers worldwide witnessed an exciting and entertaining event with the 55th Eurovision song contest that took place in the Telenor Arena Oslo on May 29th. Large live television events such as the Eurovision Song Contest need special considerations for their event and broadcast installations. Usually this means several separate systems, lots of cabling and plenty of work. This year the Norwegian Broadcast Corporation NRK used an extensive installation from Riedel Communications to handle this enormous event. Riedel's MediorNet technology combined and integrated the various parts of the event's infrastructure such as cameras, intercom and lighting into one single communications and signal distribution backbone. The system transported a combination of Riedel MediorNet, Artist digital matrix intercom, Performer digital partyline intercom, as well as the RockNet digital audio network.

The World Cup on GOL TELEVISION

After the end of the BBVA League and with three games to go in the Liga Adelante, GOL TELEVISION turns its attention to the World Cup which gets underway this week in South Africa, the year’s most important sporting event held every four years. The channel will provide viewers with comprehensive coverage right from the kick-off on 11th June and throughout the tournament which comes to a close a month later on 11th July. To get things moving, GOL TELEVISION will cover the opening concert of the World Cup on 10th June from 22.00, from the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg which will feature performances from Shakira, Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas and Juanes.

Eurovision Song Contest enchanted by the sound of Sennheiser

Lena was overjoyed when she won the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, and Europe was just as pleased with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK): the broadcaster presented a fantastic music event with outstanding competitors to the whole of Europe. “We want to share the Eurovision Song Contest, rather than just broadcast it,” said Hasse Lindmo, Contest Producer at NRK, when he introduced the motto, “Share the moment”. And the broadcaster more than fulfilled its promise. Audio specialist Sennheiser provided the wireless microphone and monitoring technology for this massive event for the 23rd time – in fact, it was the largest wireless system ever used for a Song Contest.

Austria's Hannes Arch won his third straight race in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship with a stirring performance in Windsor on Sunday, bouncing back with an emphatic victory in Canada just two days after suffering one of the worst pylon hits of his career. Britain's Paul Bonhomme took a close second in the difficult track that straddles the Canada-U.S. border over the Detroit River, his 11th straight podium, while American Kirby Chambliss made the top 3 for the first time this year with third place. Canada’s Pete McLeod was a disappointing ninth in front of his home crowd.

MultiTouch, Ltd., developer of the world’s first modular multi-touch LCD screen for large-scale displays, and Riolab, a leading interactive display production firm, have collaborated on the largest multitouch display ever produced for a World’s Fair. The Wall of Chile (Muro de Chile) for the Chilean Pavilion at the Expo 2010 Shanghai China features a 4-meter-long (13’) and 1.2-meter-high (4’) display wall that enables visitors to access more than six hours of high-definition video and thousands of photographs from historical archives, including satellite, natural, and terrestrial images that detail Chile’s culture and character.
