AMP- The FIFA World Cup in 3D

The “Car 8”, owned and operated by the French Company AMP is one of two European HD OBVans which are equipped for 3D shooting of 25 games at the FIFA World Cup. “Car 8” will be in charge of the 3D shooting of one match in Durban and 15 matches in Johannesburg, shared between Soccer City Stadium and Ellis Park Stadium. "Car 8" has been chosen for the international broadcasting of the opening match and the final match of the FIFA World Cup in 3D.

3D African Wildlife Pilot: “Distant Thunder”

World renowned wildlife filmmakers Deeble & Stone have partnered with leading 3D production specialist Inition to co-produce a 3D wildlife pilot in Africa. The shoot took place in Kenya and was produced in association with equipment manufacturer P+S TECHNIK. The pilot is narrated by Sir Ian Holm and will be screened for the first time on 1st June at Dimension 3, Seine-Saint-Denis, France.

Champions League Final in 3D on Sky UK

A season of change for the UEFA Champions League culminated with a familiar face lifting the trophy as José Mourinho led FC Internazionale Milano to a 2-0 victory against FC Bayern München at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid. At the conclusion of his 700th match for Inter, Javier Zanetti lifted the trophy and added the continental crown to the Italian league and cup double Inter had already secured. Diego Milito scored in each half to capture Inter's third European Champion Clubs' Cup and the second for Mourinho who, following his 2004 triumph with FC Porto, became just the third coach after Ottmar Hitzfeld and Ernst Happel to win the title with two clubs.

Vizrt Included in NRK Production of Eurovision Song Contest Finale

Considered the world’s largest non-sport television production, the Eurovision Song Contest Finale is being broadcast live from the Telenor Arena, in Oslo, Norway during several dates in late May. Started in 1956, the contest has since grown to include two live semi-finals, which are held on the 25th and the 27th of May. NRK, the national public broadcaster of Norway (the winning country in 2009), is the host broadcaster this year. The final broadcast consists of entries from 25 countries. The host nation is pre-qualified for the final, along with the UK, Spain, France and Germany, and the 20 qualifiers from the two Semi-Finals, leading up to the Grand Finale held on May 29th.

XDC to use Arqiva's IS905 Digital Cinema satellite platform

Arqiva is to provide XDC with satellite based electronic delivery to cinemas using its IS905 Digital Cinema platform and satellite infrastructure. Under a non-exclusive agreement Arqiva will deliver Digital Cinema Packages and live events to exhibitors in XDC's network, while XDC will also be able to transmit content to all cinemas connected to the Arqiva Digital Cinema network.

LIVECAST TV Equips two new HD OB Vans with Audio Consoles from Lawo

Two match days before the end of the season, FC Bayern München and FC Schalke 04 were topping the Bundesliga, Germany’s top football league, with level points. In the relegation battle, it was neck and neck until the last game, excitedly watched by a large TV audience. TV broadcaster LIVECAST TV Produktion’s two new OB vans were in on the gripping league finale, and produced a ‘basic feed’ of the football broadcasts. For the audio component, LIVECAST TV relies on Lawo consoles.
