IABM releases broadcast and media industry Brexit survey results

IABM today unveiled the results of a detailed survey on the potential effects of Brexit on broadcast and media technology suppliers and end-users. Conducted during September 2016, the survey was carried out among UK and European broadcast and media companies. As this is a one-off survey, IABM has decided that non-members as well as members may have free access to the full report. The report can be downloaded here.

New Zealand Parliament selects Ericsson for live captioning services

Ericsson today announced that it has won an exclusive multi-year access services contract with the Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives in New Zealand. The contract will see Ericsson remotely deliver live captioning services for the Parliament TV broadcasts of the sittings of the New Zealand House of Representatives. The new captioning service will be available on Parliament TV for the first time from August 2016.

AirFest 2016 Live Production Reaches New Heights

120,000 Tampa Bay residents who assembled at MacDill Air Force Base earlier this year for AirFest 2016, one of the world’s largest air shows, received a front row seat to all the action on the ground and in the sky. For the first time, attendees could view everything from military aircraft displays to aerial performances on large-scale video walls featuring real-time footage interlaced with graphics detailing pilot bios, aircraft profiles, attendee tweets and more. Opus – German Stage Award goes to lighting designer Björn Hermann

The Opus - German Stage Award is one of the most prestigious awards in theatre and stage production and will be presented this year to Björn Hermann who is active internationally as a lighting designer. He receives the award for the production of the Fraunhofer Annual Meeting in 2015 which featured the especially creative use of moving light as a focus for the performance on stage. The award ceremony takes place on 7 April 2016 at Prolight + Sound, the international trade fair of technologies and services for entertainment, integrated systems and creation. This was the first time leading figures from the sector had the possibility to submit projects directly to the expert jury.
