oratis compact was first presented at the IBC in 2013 and won a "Best of IBC 2013" award in the category "Audio". The system targets markets such as broadcast, theatre and public spaces where customers have predictable expansion requirements and are looking for a simple to operate, robust and future-proof intercom solution.
Premiere for oratis Wireless Interface
At IBC2014 DELEC presented two versions of a new oratis wireless interface, which connects wired intercom technology with Kenwood radio systems.
The wireless interface debuts this year trackside at the ADAC GT Masters German Automobile Racing Series. There the entire intercom system will enable communication between the team leaders in the pits, posts along the track and the race organiser.

The oratis wireless interface is a combination of components from the oratis and oratis compact series, as well as Kenwood NEXEDGE® radio systems. The result is a unique communications system that allows direct addressing of up to 63 individual calls and 189 group calls per radio device. Individual and group calls can be made from any DELEC subscriber unit and all Kenwood portable handheld transceiver. As an option, the system can also be upgraded with a DANTE™ interface, which enables audio over IP transmission.
The larger version, RIF2, comes equipped with two NX-700E (VHF) or NX-800E (UHF) Kenwood radio devices. This enables the wireless interface to provide a full duplex mode in addition to simplex, half duplex and permanent broadcasting, thus permitting simultaneous bidirectional transmission.
