Tokyo 2020 in 2021 – 100 Days to Go: What to expect from next 100 days
With 100 Days to Go to the Opening Ceremony, there are still about 15 test events for the Olympic and Paralympic Games still to be held, mostly under the READY, STEADY, TOKYO banner. The test events act as dress rehearsals for all parts of the competition, from the running of the tournament to logistical and operational capabilities so that when the Games come around, everything proceeds smoothly.However, the status of test event in artistic swimming is still to be confirmed following their initial cancellation by aquatics international federation FINA. It was originally cancelled alongside the diving test event, a Diving World Cup event, before that was re-instated following discussions involving all parties.

The Chicago based Signature Production Group, a live and virtual event production company, have adopted Quicklink Studio and Quicklink ST102’s as a “go-to” solution for connecting remote presenters into virtual events. The Quicklink solutions were provided to Signature by Key Code Media, a US-based systems integrator for A/V, broadcast, and post-production solutions.

ARRI endorses B-Mount as a universal 24 V battery standard
ARRI announces its endorsement of B-Mount as a universal 24 V battery industry standard. The new B-Mount battery interface, as used in current and future ARRI cameras and lights, is rapidly being adopted as a brand-agnostic industry standard, bringing benefits to ARRI customers and the entire global industry. B-Mount, developed by bebob, is a documented and openly available new battery mount industry standard. Major battery manufacturers such as bebob, Blueshape, Core SWX, Fxlion, Hawk-Woods, IDX and SWIT are developing B-Mount products, recognizing that modern digital cameras, accessories, and rigs often exceed the limits of existing power systems. LED lighting fixtures can also be powered by on-board batteries, so an industry standard that accommodates both cameras and lights offers great advantages, opening up new possibilities for fast and efficient mobile shooting.
Staatsschauspiel Dresden chooses Robe T1s
The Staatsschauspiel Dresden in Germany joins a long and growing number of high-profile performing arts venues that are investing in Robe’s T1 series of moving lights, a refined product line tailored to meet the exacting demands of this sector. The Staatsschauspiel Dresden runs two venues – The Schauspielhaus in the old town with 788 seats and the Kleines Haus in the Neustadt area which offers three halls with 400, 150 and 99 capacities respectively plus the Kleines Haus Mitte which can accommodate up to 60 people. The main focus is on theatrical performance, but the vibrant program – in a standard year – will also feature music, dance, concerts and spoken word performances.
Pixotope powers huge LED Wall for CCTV’s Consumer Rights Day Gala
Installed for China’s Consumer Rights Day Gala, a giant, 1000 square meter LED wall dazzled viewers with incredible graphics, all powered by Pixotope, the leading mixed reality solution for live media production. Broadcast live on March 15th 2021, the two-hour slot was dedicated to informing consumers of consumer habits and business practices from major brands. Great Wheel, a production company working within CCTV, designed and implemented the live graphics using Pixtope’s engine.
AVC-Systems Selects Leader LV5600 as IP Demo Reference Core
AVC-Systems AG, one of Switzerland's leading providers of broadcast infrastructure and services, has invested in a Leader LV5600 SDI/IP multi-screen waveform monitor as the reference core of a new IP demonstration unit. Based at the company's headquarters in Einsiedeln canton Schwyz, in the central part of Switzerland, the demonstrator will be used to explain the operational and technical advantages of IP connectivity to Swiss TV and radio channel managers, content producers, broadcast systems integrators and telco service providers.

Solid State Logic announce ALGAM, leading distributor of professional audio products in France and MAGHREB regions, as their sole distributor for sales and support across all four of SSL’s vertical markets of Broadcast, Live, Studio and Audio Creation. For over 30 years Solid State Logic has provided sales and support services via their own subsidiary, SSL France, under the leadership of, Philippe Guerinet. SSL France has been responsible for the growth of SSL Live, System T broadcast and large-format studio consoles in the region and in recent years, the increasing range of ‘ACP’ audio creation products, including USB recording interfaces, high-performance small-scale mixers and hybrid production tools; Fusion and UF8.
Hope Lights our Way
The Olympic Torch Relay for Tokyo 2020 began with the kindling of the Olympic flame by the rays of the sun in Olympia, Greece, on 12 March 2020, before it was transported by a special “Tokyo 2020 Go” jet to Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Watch every minute of the Olympic Torch Relay live on the Tokyo 2020 website, starting Thursday 25 March 2021. The schedule and dates in the footage are based on the original schedule of the Olympic Torch Relay prior to its postponement. Following the postponement, the scheduled dates will be one day earlier than those in the previous schedule (the days of the week will match the previous schedule). The concept for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay across Japan will be "Hope Lights Our Way", uniting the Japanese people around messages about supporting, accepting and encouraging one another.
