Romanian broadcaster PRO TV, part of CME media and entertainment network, is the first European customer for Sony’s new HDC-3500 live production camera. PRO TV has invested in eight HDC-3500 camera chains that will be used for live entertainment and sports productions, working with HDCU-3100, the IP enabled Camera Control Unit. They also have chosen the PXW-Z280 and PXW-Z150 camcorders for their mainstream and local studio productions, alongside Sony’s dual channel UWP wireless microphone packages.

EVS, the leading provider of live production solutions, today announced that its XT-VIA live production servers have been purchased by NHK Media Technology (MT) and NHK Global Media Services (GMS), subsidiaries of NHK, one of the world leaders in higher-resolution content creation. Ultra HD 8K (Super High-Vision) test broadcast, which is the highest level of broadcasting technology, started to be given through the Türksat 4B and Turksat 3A communication satellite located at the 50 degrees and 42 East orbital locations.

Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, and Gearhouse Broadcast partnered to deliver Australia’s first 4K UHD live broadcast from Bathurst. All six hours of 4K UHD content from the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 for supercars – the country’s annual, premier touring car event – were broadcast live without any advertising breaks.
