Nokia Technologies announced the European sales launch of the OZO professional VR camera and new post-production partnerships to advance end-to-end solutions for creating VR experiences. Hosted at London's indigo at the O2 arena, the event included demonstrations of OZO's innovative features such as real-time VR preview, wireless operation, and full 3D 360 VR audio and video live broadcast capabilities.
 

Nevion, award-winning provider of virtual media production infrastructure, has announced its Flashlink DWDM optical transmitter was used by Japanese state broadcaster NHK in its 8K transmission of Super Bowl 50.

At the upcoming NAB Show, the Optical Devices Division of FUJIFILM North America will showcase its entire range of 4K Ultra HD Series, Cabrio PL cine/ENG-Style lenses, Premier PL 4K+ cine lenses, as well as the popular XA55x9.5BESM 2/3-inch zoom and XA99x8.4 ultra-wide field production lens. NEP Australia yesterday launched its newest 4K super truck – HD12 – from Melbourne’s
Etihad Stadium. HD12 will immediately go to work on this weekend’s AFL coverage for the Seven Network and FOX SPORTS.

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Shigehiro Nakajima) has announced that it will release the “FUJINON XK6x20” as a new addition to the lineup of 4K-compatible digital cinema camera zoom lenses in late June. Equipped with  a PL mount*2, the most common format for cinema cameras, the “XK6x20” is a standard zoom lens that delivers  T3.5*1 brightness for the entire zoom range from 20mm to 120mm.

Viaccess-Orca, a global leader in the protection and enhancement of content services, and the French TV channel TF1 announced today the broadcast of the world's first live stream of a football match in 360 degrees and Ultra HD (HEVC-encoded), showcasing a premium television experience with virtual reality (VR) technologies for a test audience. On March 29, this private audience enjoyed a football match between France and Russia in real-time, from three remote locations, using VR headsets. A recording of the live broadcast will be shown for the first time as part of Viaccess-Orca's "Virtual Arena" demo at the 2016 NAB Show, April 18-21 in Las Vegas.

The output of the eight 2k x 2k sensors is lightly compressed and packaged into a single stream which Comprimato decodes in software for live monitoring and responsive post production to enable dynamic rendering and real-time views of videos shot.

ATEME announced today that FRANSAT, the satellite TV bouquet of Eutelsat in France, broadcast the Vienna Opera ballet “Le Corsaire” live in Ultra High Definition (UHD) on April 2, in partnership with Arte channel.

Rai, Italy’s national public broadcaster and satellite operator Eutelsat are teaming up to deliver live coverage of premium sport in Ultra HD. Following an agreement between the two companies, seven matches of the Euro 2016 championship will be offered to Italian TV homes receiving Tivùsat, the free-to-view platform distributed by satellite from Eutelsat’s HOT BIRD video neighbourhood. The initiative with Eutelsat marks Rai’s most ambitious foray into Ultra HD that represents the next big leap forward in broadcasting.
