Turkuvaz Media Group (TMG), Turkey’s largest private media group operating in television, radio broadcasting, as well as newspaper and magazine publication and printing, has chosen Sony solutions and services to build an ambitious new media centre in Istanbul, spanning 7 studios and control rooms, as part of a multi-million Euro deal with systems integrator Teratek. This project consolidates TMG’s distributed studios into one location to improve efficiency, future-proof its capabilities for 4K broadcasting, and create a scalable system ready for the group’s future growth.
Turksat tests 8K broadcast
Türksat continues to pave the way with new broadcasting technologies. Ultra HD 8K (Super High-Vision) test broadcast, which is the highest level of broadcasting technology, started to be given through the Türksat 4B and Turksat 3A communication satellite located at the 50 degrees and 42 East orbital locations.

The first Ultra High Definition (4K) broadcast in Turkey that is available to the ultimate consumer was realized by TRT 4K – MEDIAPRO TURKEY-TURKSAT and SAMSUNG co-operation. 7 Ultra HD cameras were used during the production of UEFA Europa League A Group Fenerbahçe- Ajax match. The broadcast was transmitted by European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to Beinsport, BT Sports and Japanese NHK TV channels, and was also made available in UEFA headquarter.

Swiss production and broadcast company tpc, part of the major Swiss public media business SRG SSR, is building a news, sport and technology center in Zurich. This all-IP center, built around the SMPTE ST 2110 family of standards, will use the Selenio™ Network Processor (SNP) from Imagine Communications to provide advanced IP-to-IP video and audio processing, as well as conversion between legacy SDI feeds and equipment and the newly built IP infrastructure.
