Technology and production center switzerland ag (tpc) builds one of the first OB vans for IP-based UHD live production worldwide, choosing Sony’s HDC-4300 camera. The multimedia market leader and technical service provider for radio and TV in Switzerland purchased 21 HDC-4300 cameras. The cameras are already in use and were chosen for their reliability and the possibility of producing in 4K when needed.

After exhaustive tests of various 3D production equipment at the Champions League Game VFB Stuttgart - FC Barcelona on 23rd February,  Sky Germany decided to broadcast the Bundesliga top game between Bayer Leverkusen and the Hamburger SV in 3D HD to a selected group of VIPs in Munich. The Live production of the 3D HD signal in Leverkusen was carried out by TopVision on behalf of Sportcast. The responsibility for the transmission was with HD Sat Communications, providing an uplink van in Leverkusen and a downlink van in Munich.

In preparation for the first 3D HD live production of a German football Bundesliga game, TopVision carried out extensive trials of the necessary equipment on 23rd February during the UEFA Champions League game VFB Stuttgart – FC Barcelona.

A recent project is a world’s first: The realization of the IFA press conference of the Deutsche Telekom in 3D.

Especially for the production of the matches of the German `Premier League´ (Bundesliga) in 3D TopVision has added additional cameras and related 3D products. EVS announces that TopVision Telekommunikation, one of Europe’s leading Outside Broadcast service provider, recently made use of its Instant Tapeless Technology for the live production of the Bundesliga match between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Hamburger SV in 3D HD. The production, which was broadcast by Sky Germany, was the first of its kind in Germany.

Borussia Dortmund opened up the Bundesliga title race by beating leaders Bayern Munich 1-0 at the Allianz Arena to reduce the deficit at the top of the table to two points, on a weekend of despair in Germany. A goal from Mario Gotze early in the second half was enough to inflict a second home defeat on Bayern, who lost by the same scoreline to Borussia Monchengladbach on the opening day of the season. Both Dortmund and Gladbach are now Bayern's closest challengers in the table with just two points separating the Bavarians from the two Westphalian sides with four games to go before the winter break.

Japan’s largest post-production company, IMAGICA, has purchased a Quantel Pablo Rio and Neo Nano color panel for 4K and HFR editing, color correction and finishing.  Established in 1935 and headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, IMAGICA is home to Japan’s most extensive production and post-production facilities, providing services for the film, advertising and motion picture industries.

At Band Pro's One World on HD Open House back in December one of Sony's newest cameras was debuted, the HDC-P1. This compact, box-style camera does full HD with a 2/3" CCD sensor, B4 mount and variable frame rates, including 24p. Originally conceived as a studio camera, this camera will soon find itself flying off the shelf in pairs because of its natural fit for 3D production.

Mobile production specialist TNDV: Television has set itself apart from many of its competitors through its “a la carte” approach to each project based on customer requests and technical requirements. Following recent purchases of high-end switching and audio production gear, TNDV has acquired a full complement of Sony HDC-4300 cameras that are immediately available on Exclamation, its flagship 53-foot, double-expando 3G/4K mobile truck.

Outside broadcast and post provider Timeline Television has installed a Calrec console in UHD1, TimelineTV's first 4K/UHD OB truck. Timeline built the truck primarily to provide content for BT Sport, which launched Europe's first live sports UHD channel on August 1st.

Snell Advanced Media (SAM) today announced that Tigo Sports, Paraguay’s first sports channel dedicated exclusively to multiple sports coverage, has purchased a range of SAM solutions including its Sirius™ 840 router, Kudos™ LC350 framerate converters and IQ Modular™ infrastructure as part of a major upgrade to its facility. The upgrade allows the simultaneous production of HD and 4K content across major sporting events in Latin America. SAM’s partnership with Paraguayan reseller MACOM was key to delivering the project for Tigo Sports.
