The first Ultra High Definition (4K) broadcast in Turkey that is available to the ultimate consumer was realized by TRT 4K – MEDIAPRO TURKEY-TURKSAT and SAMSUNG co-operation. 7 Ultra HD cameras were used during the production of UEFA Europa League A Group Fenerbahçe- Ajax match. The broadcast was transmitted by European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to Beinsport, BT Sports and Japanese NHK TV channels, and was also made available in UEFA headquarter.

True Visions, a leading cable and satellite operator in Thailand, has extended its Imagine Communications playout solution to broadcast this year’s worldwide football championships in 4K Ultra HD. Plazamedia together with TV Skyline produced the Universum Boxing-Evening on Saturday 4th December at the Sports and Convention Center in Schwerin. The full-service provider for TV and New Media realized the TV signal of the boxing event in 3D, HD and SD. In cooperation with SPORT1, Deutsche Telekom and HD+ the TV signals of the fights were distributed via the T-Entertain platform on channel 311 and via Astra on SPORT1 in 3D. In addition the Polish pay-tv operator TVN started its regular 3D channel “nShow 3D” with this boxing event.

TV3 is to distribute the 3D Champions League final match of 28 May between FC Barcelona and Manchester United to cinemas across the whole of Catalonia. More than 7,500 people shall have the chance to watch live the final practically as if they were seating at Wembley stadium – a unique and pioneering experience to be taken by TV3 to 23 cinemas in 18 cities, in a broadcast by TV3 and by TV3HD channels in parallel to that of television.

In 2009 TV3 started working in 3D with the recording of “Llits” at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya. The Llits3D production was made possible technically in cooperation with Ovide, Apuntolpapospo and Kronomav. The stereoscopic transmissions on TV3HD started in 2010. Since May 2010 every Saturday the TV3HD channel is broadcasting in 3D for about 2 hours. TV3 is the first TV station in Spain to broadcast 3D, and the first to do it regularly.
