Ten of the Best is a unique ensemble featuring ten of the world’s most renowned trumpet players. Playing a refined crossover of classical, jazz and pop music, Yamaha digital mixing consoles are the ideal accompaniment to their live shows.

Dominating the central Italian city of Gaeta, the massive 600 year old Castello Aragonese was one of the country’s strongest fortresses. These days it is rather more welcoming and the castle has hosted an annual jazz festival for the past five years. In 2012, old met new as it played host to a Yamaha CL5 system to mix the shows.

Six weeks of July and August 2012 have seen a pair of Yamaha CL5s undertake their most challenging task yet. Backed by stunning lakeland scenery and with the CL5s solving complex delay panning issues, Tell - Das Musical recounts the story of Switzerland’s most famous folk hero.

June saw an event which marked another ‘first’ for Yamaha’s new CL series of digital mixing consoles - the first time one had been used at an outdoor classical concert.

Armenian symphony orchestra and choir KOHAR has enjoyed remarkable success since it was formed 15 years ago. Performing across the world, the ensemble recently returned from a series of shows in South America, at which three Yamaha CL5 digital consoles starred.

With roots going back to 1776, Slovenské Národné Divadlo (the Slovak National Theatre, or SND) in Bratislava has witnessed over 300 years of drama, in all senses of the word. Its current building, the City Theatre, was constructed in 1886. A recent technical upgrade has seen a state-of-the-art Yamaha CL series system installed, allowing maximum flexibility for its performances.

XL Video is supplying world famous dance company Sadler’s Wells with a projection system for ‘m¡longa’, a new work by the brilliant internationally acclaimed Belgian born choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, which was inspired by the magical communication of tango dancing the intimate, almost conspiratorial social setting of the m¡longa (social tango dances).

Working with the Society of London Theatre, XL Video supported the Olivier Awards 2015 with MasterCard with the supply of video screens, media servers and control systems in two London locations, and once again sponsored the award for Best Set Design. This is the fifth consecutive year XL Video has been involved in the video production for the awards.

On 25 July 2015, the Tate Modern in London hosted a very special one day event in their iconic Turbine Hall. As part of the Turbine Festival 2015, video designer, Icarus Wilson-Wright, was asked to transform the Turbine Hall with a new look for the event. To support this, he asked d3 Technologies, XL Video, and Barco to assist in realising the project.

The Olivier Awards are a glittering celebration of the very best of British Theatre, recognising actors and productions alike for stunning performances across a range of genres.

In March 2013, the Teenage Cancer Trust held its regular series of fundraising shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London – the 13th year this has taken place. Supporting the charity, XL Video supplied LED screens, an HD camera system, recording and control for the series of seven events which, were curated by Noel Gallagher.

XL Video supplied plasma screens and full Catalyst media management and control for the acclaimed National Theatre of Scotland current production of Macbeth.

XL Video supplied creative video projection and control to the Shangri La area at the 2014 Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts at Pilton in Somerset, UK, helping to give this popular immersive, interactive fictional world a real edge.

Following a successful event at last year’s festival, XL Video, working with Technical Producer, Nick Diacre, has once again produced a significant achievement in 180˚ live mapping for Shangri-La’s Heaven Stage at the Glastonbury festival 2015.

Cool music and modern art combined at New York’s iconic Guggenheim Museum for a special set by electronic music pioneer Richie Hawtin, who swapped his more usual club backdrop to play as Plastikman alongside his brother Matthew, as part of a high profile fundraiser hosted by the Guggenheim’s Young Collectors Council.
