Founded in 1963, the Boston Ballet has become one of the leading dance companies in the world. Products from AJA Video Systems featured prominently in the video infrastructure of the 2011 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, held in April and May. The Cannes International Film, founded in 1946, is the most prestigious film festival in the world. The 64th edition took place in May at the Palais des Festivals. With a reported budget of approximately 20 million Euros, and record breaking attendance of over 65,000 people, Christie, Technical Partner for the fifth year in succession, provided digital projection technology and supported all digital cinema screenings during the Festival programme.

Renowned acoustician David Bell has been conferred the title of LIPA Companion by the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, which announced the honour at its graduation day on Friday 29th July, 2011.

Qube Cinema has again been selected as the digital cinema technology provider for the Venice Film Festival, August 31 through September 10. La Biennale di Venezia has grown to become one of the world's premiere film events, providing a showcase both for new cinematic works, and the technologies used to exhibit them. Now in its fourth year with the festival, Qube Cinema is supplying digital cinema servers and technical support.

Christoph Willibald von Gluck's opera Orfeo ed Euridice was held during June and July against the royal backdrop of Soestdijk Palace in Utrecht, attracting 1,500 people per night. A large quantity of DPA microphones, including the first 2006A and 2011A mics to arrive in Holland, were provided by DPA’s Dutch distributor Amptec for the event.

When Machu Picchu was founded in the 15th-century by the Incas it was a completely unique town.The buildings were located 2,430 metres (7,970 ft) above sea level, situated ona narrow mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley in Peru. Thecity was abandoned a century later at the time of the Spanish Conquest. Often Machu Picchu is referred to as the "Lost Cityof the Incas", and it is perhaps the most familiar icon of the Inca World.

The winner of the IBC2011 International Honour for Excellence is Sir David Attenborough, in recognition of his remarkable career in television and, in particular, natural history. His career spans almost 60 years, with his Atlantic Productions documentary Flying Monsters 3D with Sir David Attenborough one of the most acclaimed programmes commissioned by Sky 3D.

DPA’s new Reference Standard series of microphones have been used for a large outdoor event in Aix-en-Provence by French rental company Texen. Parade(s) was the opening concert for the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and featured the London Symphony Orchestra, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and various soloists, performing Verdi’s La Traviata.
