Arqiva is providing events rights holder SuperVision Media with satellite distribution services via Arqiva’s Digital Cinema platform on IS905. This supports SuperVision Media's distribution and commercialisation of live sport and entertainment events into digitally enabled cinemas in Europe and around the world.

Camera Corps reports a world-first in dynamic sports coverage with the successful use of live RF helmet cameras during snowboarding and ski-cross sports events held in Canada during February. Working in co-operation with transmission specialist Broadcast RF Ltd, Camera Corps was able to deliver some of the most dramatic winter sports video coverage ever obtained.

Dubai Media has installed two 32-fader, Solid State Logic C100 HDS consoles in two new remote OB vans as part of the network’s move into HD broadcast. The C100 HDS consoles primarily support live to air coverage of horse racing at the massive new Meydan Racecourse and other local and international sporting events. The positive experience with a C100 HD in the main studio helped Dubai Media with its decision to use the C100 HDS consoles in the new vans.

The show – which regularly draws one of the highest annual ratings on Slovakian TV - was broadcast live on national STV1, and featured an enthusiastic audience of 5,000 people.

On April 15th, the world’s largest trade fair for film and television technology ended. For some people the journey back home from the NAB in Las Vegas took longer than expected – due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland which suspended the air traffic. However, the trip was worth it.
