Miss World 2009 meets grandMA and MA VPU
Miss World 2009 saw another spectacular lighting design by Tim Dunn, who used a grandMA full-size console to control nearly 300 intelligent light fixtures, plus LED and generic lighting, altogether totalling 12,600 DMX channels across 24 active universes. He also triggered video content stored on an MA VPU (Video Processing Unit) from the desk, which fed an upstage LED screen, 12 x digital moving lights and 114 LED lights embedded in the set.

At Band Pro's One World on HD Open House back in December one of Sony's newest cameras was debuted, the HDC-P1. This compact, box-style camera does full HD with a 2/3" CCD sensor, B4 mount and variable frame rates, including 24p. Originally conceived as a studio camera, this camera will soon find itself flying off the shelf in pairs because of its natural fit for 3D production.

Successful Broadcast of the Ski World Cup with MediorNet
The broadcast provider TVN PRODUCTION, a partner of EuroTV Österreich, utilized an extensive MediorNet installation from Riedel Communications for the broadcast of the women’s Super G World Cup in Haus im Ennstal for the Austrian broadcast network ORF. Despite the extreme temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius the Riedel fiber technology enabled a successful event.
