Mediatec Broadcast, specialized in managing large scale events in sports and entertainment, has chosen EVS Instant Tapeless Technology for the production and broadcast of two premium sports channels in Norway. Mediatec Broadcast, which is part of the Mediatec Group, one of Europe’s leading corporations in live events and television productions, chose to work with EVS Instant Tapeless Technology to produce and broadcast Viasat Sport in Norway and the new Viasat Football. Viasat is owned by the Swedish media company Modern Times Group (MTG).

EVS now provides novel stereoscopic 3D experiences for live sports and music. With its latest MulticamLSM 10 software package, EVS’ renowned XT[2]-LSM offers full 3D-HD loop recordings, playbacks, slow-motion replays, instant editing, and live clipping functions. In effect, all existing capabilities of the MulticamLSM software package are now available for any type of 3D-HD production.

EVS will raise the curtain on its future live Offside Line graphics solution, which will become an integral part of the renowned XT[2] server and its Live Slow-Motion controller. With this new fully automated offside line graphic overlay EVS confirms its intention to reinforce its current live sports recording and production technology. LSM operators can instantly control the offside line graphic overlay, allowing them to optimize their live production workflow without additional resources.

Fujinon and co-developer NHK won for “Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development.” Precision Focus Assist is a built-in feature within a lens that enables camera operators the ability to ensure fast, accurate focusing of high definition images under varying conditions.

EVS, the leader in instant tapeless technology, offered live slow motion replays on Ultra Motion cameras during this year’s French Open. The Ultra Motion cameras, which are high-speed HD camera systems used by broadcasters to cover major international events, were fully controlled by EVS’ XT[2]-LSM live production systems

Already purchased by large broadcasters in France, Germany and Hungary, the Hybrid Network is a solution formed by combining the reliability of traditional TDM-based intercom systems with the flexibility and affordability of IP solutions - designed to extend the reach of intercom capabilities to more users without the need for costly infrastructure.

Programmes such as Match of the Day, Match of the Day 2, Football Focus, Score, Inside Sport and recently the World Athletic Championships in Osaka are produced from this studio.

Presteigne Charter has been contracted by SIS LIVE, Europe’s largest OB and uplink provider, to supply a flypack to facilitate eight of the Grand Prix races for the BBC’s F1 coverage. The races, consisting of Australia, Malaysia, China, Bahrain, Singapore, Japan, Brazil and Abu Dhabi provide many broadcasting challenges and with many of these races being back to back, this provides a logistical challenge of its own, moving the equipment from location to location.

 Cypriot audio visual facility City Studios has moved into a new, purpose-built complex consisting of five dubbing suites, a video suite and the largest music production studio in Cyprus. In line with the expansion, the 20-year-old facility has updated with state of the art equipment including a large inventory of DPA microphones.

With EVS’ XT[2] Multicam 10 software release, available May 2009, all existing XT[2] LSM systems will offer a higher level of integration with ARRI Media Hi-Motion systems. ARRI Media is the specialist in high-speed High Definition cameras. This new integration with hypermotion cameras will allow live sport operators to manage all hypermotion functions, including recording, replay, and clipping, directly from the EVS LSM remote controller.

Panasonic Corporation today announced it will start developing a professional 3D Full HD production system. The system, which is expected to be the first of its kind in the industry, consists of a twin-lens P2 professional camera recorder and a 3D-compatible High Definition Plasma display.
