NEP UK and Ireland, part of the global production services organization NEP Group, is transforming its fleet. Central to this is a fleet of four radically new large-scale trucks. This new design follows the loss of some of the company’s assets in a catastrophic fire at its main base at the beginning of November 2015. Imagine Communications was already engaged in discussions with NEP and so sped up its delivery to meet NEP’s requirements.

For some time now, audio loudness has been a hot topic for the broadcast industry and one of the key issues faced by engineers in control of audio output. Significant differences in volume have led to many complaints from viewers who don’t like having to reach for the remote every time they change channel or are faced with a deafening commercial break. These differences in loudness are most common between television programming and advertisements, but they can also exist across the same channel and even within the same programme, for example with live sports feeds or during a movie or talk shows.

On 9 February 2009, RTÉ unveiled its brand-new state-of-the-art studio during its One o'clock News bulletin. It features three high-bright Barco video walls and a cutting-edge Encore Presentation System, which Barco installed and integrated in barely two weeks.

In 2004, the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) decided to move some of its broadcast operations to MediaCityUK, a 200-acre site located at Salford Quays on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal. The aim was for MediaCityUK to become one of the most important broadcast and media production centres in the country. BBC Children, BBC Research and BBC Radio 5 Live were all scheduled to move to the new media centre in late 2011. And the decision to move BBC Sport was made so there would eventually be a major integrated sports broadcast centre which would benefit from the most advanced digital broadcast and media technology.

BBC S&PP is a BBC-owned commercial company, providing facilities to make programmes and manage media. Very simply we operate studios - 'the boxes' - where TV programmes are made. We carry out post production, making sure the content 'comes together' in the right way. Our Digital Media Services also do quality checking and prepare and deliver content for transmission or distribution. Very often programmes have another life after broadcast and they also take material from deep in a broadcaster's archive and help re-purpose it for a future digital life. In short, BBC S&PP is involved in nearly all of the TV production process - following the entire lifecycle of the media asset, from creation to archive.

The history of Benfica TV (BTV) channel came to light from within the club itself. The project isowned by the Sport Lisboa e Benfica club (51% of the capital) and by the SAD (the remaining49%). After the constitution of Benfica TV as a legal body and the final decision on its managementmodel, Benfica TV starts broadcasting in 2008. It broadcasts live full matches, interviews with staff, players, and historic matches, as well as other sports.
