NEP Group Inc. (‘NEP’) announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Consolidated Media Industries (‘CMI’). The acquisition will bring one of Europe’s leading providers of innovative video technology and outsourced production solutions into NEP’s worldwide network.

International news agency, Agence France-Presse (AFP) has invested in Quantel’s new sQ 1800 servers for its brand new global news production solution. Vislink, the global provider of broadcast communications equipment, in conjunction with Broadcast RF, today announced its transmission and receive infrastructure is being used for the second year in a row to deliver course-wide coverage of the 144th Open Golf Championship, 16-19 July from the Old Course at St. Andrews.

Six OBE C-100 encoders were used at the Glastonbury Festival to transport high quality HD broadcast feeds over IP from six stages to London, marking the first on-site IP delivery at Glastonbury. These feeds were then used on the web and Connected Red Button services. Using BBC Newsgathering’s expertise in using IP and commodity equipment in the field, the C-100 encoders ran as software on existing Intel-based hardware with the feeds transported over an on-site IP connection.

Broadcast Solutions GmbH, specialist in building outside broadcasting tools, will deliver an OB Van to South Korean broadcaster KBS. The assignment covers the construction and delivery of a 12 camera HD OB Van. The OB Van which will be named HDTV2 will be the second live production vehicle that Broadcast Solutions builds for KBS. In close cooperation with local partner DYD the German based company will deliver this HD OB Van in 2016 - the project planning for HDTV 2 is in progress.

This was the fifth time PUR, Germany’s biggest band, has performed at 55,000 seat Veltins Arena, each time in-the-round, and each time with a different PA system. “This is a highly reverberant space,” explains system technician Frank Müller, “and we have tried many different PA systems and configurations. This time, with the d&b V-Series, and using the new ArrayProcessing feature in ArrayCalc, we achieved absolutely the best result ever.”
