Independent television producer VPK PRO has deployed a DYVI live production switcher from EVS for the launch by leading telco VipNet of five new live sports channels in Croatia. The technology installation was put in place by VPK PRO, acting as technical partner, ahead of the roll out of the new PlanetSport channels which went live earlier this summer.

Broadcast Solutions will show an ENG Van, the company recently delivered to Belgian public broadcaster VRT, at their IBC outdoor stand O.E02. The ENG on display is part of a large frame contract about seven vehicles. The one presented at IBC is part of a final delivery of three identical news gathering vans, concluded earlier this year. The van is heavily used in the field for the VRT news program VRT NWS and to fulfil VRT’s approach to develop new news formats – fast, flexible and with the most innovative production tools.
 

Berlin-based manufacturer Stage Tec has upgraded two of Flemish broadcaster VRT’s OB trucks with powerful RMDQ audio DSP units. The HD01 and HD02 OB vans were each equipped with six DSP boards in their NEXUS STAR routers. With them, the OB trucks are now ready for all production requirements. For example, depending on the configuration, 44 mix buses and more than 500 audio channels are available. The AURUS consoles, which have been installed in the OB vans for eight years, can now benefit from new features such as the automixer, M/S decoder, internal tone generator, and the VCA hierarchy, etc.

The recipient of the 2016 EBU Award for Technology & Innovation, the VRT Sandbox LiveIP Studio,  has launched a new age of convenience and flexibility in professional television programme production. In the future, the award will be given annually, based on an evaluation of factors such as impact and innovation.

Modernisation work at the Sachsen MDR broadcasting centre in Dresden has included a complete update of the control room and video editing suite with installation of the VSM (Virtual Studio Manager) as new control system. With the advent of high definition broadcasting (HD) at MDR it was necessary for its regional broadcasting facilities to switch to the production of HD signals.

VSM Broadcast Control and Monitoring System from L-S-B has been chosen as overall control and monitoring system in the newly built HD 11 of NEP Australia. Control systems specialist VSM Control GmbH has appointed a new Sales Director to oversee sales of Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) outside Europe.  Jamie Dunn joins the company after 13 years with Studer.
