YouTube Space London Goes IP with SSL, Evertz and Ross Video
At IBC2016, Evertz, Ross Video and Solid State Logic announced their participation in the launch of YouTube Space London. YouTube Space London opened their 20,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art facility in August 2016 for collaboration, learning, and production for their YouTube creator community in London and Europe. The IP-based production facility uses 10GbE to move uncompressed video, audio, and metadata (using SMPTE RDD 37) between its three studios and two control rooms. The IP infrastructure provides YouTube Space London with complete flexibility and agility where any source is available anywhere.
Yvan Le Verge Joins Ross Video as Sales Manager for France
Yvan is no stranger to the broadcast industry, having started his career just over twenty years ago with Barco and then holding a variety of sales and business development roles with broadcast equipment manufacturers and Systems Integrators alike. Although originally from the North West region of Brittany, Yvan now lives in Paris and is looking forward to getting to know Ross Video’s customers in France. “I have always been focused on understanding my customers’ needs and customer service is obviously at the heart of Ross Video’s approach, so I’m really excited about this new role and the opportunities it presents; Ross has enjoyed incredible growth over the last few years and I’m committed to building on that success”.

ZDF and ARD modernise “Mobile Produktions Einheit” (MPE) and switch to full IP functionality
Having already successfully assisted clients in converting large studio and production buildings to an IP infrastructure, LOGIC media solutions was in charge of another IP migration process in the broadcast industry that is currently receiving particular attention. However, this time, it is a mobile and flexible flight case infrastructure for the “Mobile Produktions Einheit” (MPE) (Mobile Production Unit). The technology used jointly by German broadcasters ZDF and ARD has been upgraded to full IP functionality in essential core components. The mobile production unit comprises a wide variety of customised components to suit the individual purpose and event. It is used jointly by ZDF and ARD for events which, due to their size and complexity, cannot be handled with conventional production means (OB vans, on-site studio), e.g. European and World Cup football matches or summer and winter Olympic Games.
ZDF Modernizes Multiple Broadcast Studios with EditShare
EditShare, a technology leader in intelligent shared storage and media management solutions, announced today that German broadcaster ZDF has begun a large-scale update of its broadcast studio locations including Bremen, Cairo, Istanbul, New York, Saarbrücken, Tel Aviv and Warsaw to an EditShare end-to-end media management workflow featuring a tiered storage environment with integrated production asset management. Transitioning from a legacy tape-based set up, each ZDF studio location will be equipped with an EditShare XStream HT 32TB shared storage platform and Ark 24-slot LTO tape library. The integrated Flow production asset management solution will provide end-to-end media management with tools to automate complex and or repetitive workflows.
