For the sixth consecutive year, XL Video supplied full video production for the hugely popular ‘Strictly Come Dancing – The Live Tour’ which yet again, packed out UK arenas following hot on the heels of the latest rating-breaking hit TV series. The star-studded line-up for the 2013 tour included reigning ‘Strictly champion and Olympic gymnast’, Louis Smith, dancing with Ola Jordan.

XL Video continues to supply Coldplay’s phenomenal Mylo Xyloto (MX) world tour with LED screens, cameras / HD PPU, media servers and control plus crew, which has stepped up to play stadiums shows in the UK and Europe.

XL Video supplied a large high definition LED screen, media server control, projection relays and screen management for the hugely popular 2014 National Television Awards, hosted by Dermot O’Leary at London’s O2 Arena.

The production was designed by Florian Wieder and Matthias Kublik from Wieder Design.  The circular main stage featured a backdrop of LED surrounded by a series of elegant, curved metal ribs to form a vortex style structure inspired by the show’s ‘Time Machine’ theme. A thin curved catwalk extended into the audience and an award presentation area and glamour pit faced the main performance stage.

XL Video supplied full video production – including 457 tiles of Pixled F12 LED, PPU / cameras, Catalyst media servers and crew for the recent UK arena leg of Biffy Clyro’s ‘Opposites’ world tour.

When one of New Zealand’s finest bands, Fat Freddy’s Drop, confirmed their headlining show at London’s Alexandra Palace, they contacted XL Video to supply live video production for the sold-out one-off gig.

It is the time of the year for Eurovision fever… and to catch the buzz, get everyone in the mood and also to celebrate 60 glorious years of the Eurovision Song Contest, the BBC staged a special event at London’s Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, “Eurovision’s Greatest Hits”, for which XL Video was asked to supply the Stage LED screens.

Ibiza 123 is the first music festival to be held on the island, and played host to a diverse line-up of artists featuring global superstars Sting, Elton John and Lenny Kravitz; live performances from chart stars Labrinth and Tinie Tempah; plus sets from some of the hottest DJs on the planet including Tiesto, Fatboy Slim, Chase & Status, Luciano, and David Guetta!

XL Video supplied full video production - LED screens, cameras / PPU, media server control and crew – to Flourish Creative who produced Google’s high profile Brandcast event at the Evolution event in Battersea, London. The annual event was part of the inaugural IAB UK’s Digital Upfronts and showcased some of the coolest, cleverest and most creative stuff happening on YouTube to 1100 invited guests.

In perhaps one of the more unusual live music projects this year, electronic music artist Scanner has teamed up with the Heritage Orchestra for Live_Transmission: Joy Division Reworked. The project is a musical and visual reinterpretation of the work of one of the UK’s most influential bands.

Working together with The Shop Ibiza & IMS, XL Video provided two Barco O-Lite 510 curved LED screens which greeted delegates in the reception of Ibiza Gran Hotel, Marina Botafoch, as they arrived for the conference.

The Award-winning Broadway musical, RENT, was first workshopped in New York in 1993. To celebrate this 20 year landmark, a new concert production under the direction of Daniel Wood recently toured around the UK. With packed houses and standing ovations nightly, it’s no surprise that additional dates are already set to take place in the Autumn.

XL Video UK supplied Production North with Pixled F-11 moving screens and two large left and right IMAG screens made up from their brand new F-12 product for Westlife’s Farewell Concert at Croke Park Stadium, Dublin, Ireland.

XL Video has supplied LED screens, projection screens, media servers and screen management for the National Television Awards 2015.

Working with Production Manager Sarah Chaloner and Designer Jonathan Paul Green, XL Video supplied a projection system for studio recordings of  ‘Series L’ of the popular QI Ltd/TalkBack Television show, QI.
