Eurovision Song Contest: German TV went live with STAGETEC
It was the party of the year: On May 29, NDR and the city of Hamburg invited the public to view the Eurovision Song Contest final on a live screen on the Reeperbahn. The visitors enjoyed a live broadcast from Oslo on a huge screen as well as a stage program with Xavier Naidoo and Nena as the top acts. The broadcast was taken over by NDR using audio technology from the SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP.

Broadcast to networks around the world, the event is expected to be the greatest entertainment event to date on the African continent. All net proceeds will benefit “20 Centres for 2010”, the Official Campaign of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, which aims to build 20 centres across Africa offering education and healthcare services as well as football training to disadvantaged communities.

Riedel Scores at the Eurovision Song Contest
More than 120 million viewers worldwide witnessed an exciting and entertaining event with the 55th Eurovision song contest that took place in the Telenor Arena Oslo on May 29th. Large live television events such as the Eurovision Song Contest need special considerations for their event and broadcast installations. Usually this means several separate systems, lots of cabling and plenty of work. This year the Norwegian Broadcast Corporation NRK used an extensive installation from Riedel Communications to handle this enormous event. Riedel's MediorNet technology combined and integrated the various parts of the event's infrastructure such as cameras, intercom and lighting into one single communications and signal distribution backbone. The system transported a combination of Riedel MediorNet, Artist digital matrix intercom, Performer digital partyline intercom, as well as the RockNet digital audio network.

Eurovision Song Contest enchanted by the sound of Sennheiser
Lena was overjoyed when she won the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, and Europe was just as pleased with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK): the broadcaster presented a fantastic music event with outstanding competitors to the whole of Europe. “We want to share the Eurovision Song Contest, rather than just broadcast it,” said Hasse Lindmo, Contest Producer at NRK, when he introduced the motto, “Share the moment”. And the broadcaster more than fulfilled its promise. Audio specialist Sennheiser provided the wireless microphone and monitoring technology for this massive event for the 23rd time – in fact, it was the largest wireless system ever used for a Song Contest.
