EUROMEDIA, the leading French broadcast services provider is currently overhauling its technical vehicles and cameras and has recently acquired the first Sony HDC-4300 camera in France for its slow-motion applications.

The glass-free versions of the 98” and 84” LED LCD panels (TH-98LQ70L & TH-84LQ70L) sit alongside the company’s existing large 4K displays. The decision to add the LQ70L models was based on requests from the rental industry for a lighter and brighter version, gained by the removal of the protection glass.

Although SMPTE 4K standards have not yet been resolved, a number of new high-resolution camera systems from such companies as Blackmagic Design and ATOMOS are in widespread use. The german based manufactor SOMMER CABLE is now shipping optimum quality new 6G/12G SDI products designed for the standards of tomorrow.

-        No one is shooting/producing in 4K
-        Not enough studios/networks have upgraded their infrastructure to offer 4K stuff
-        There aren’t enough stable production/transmission standards to deliver to stuff
-        Not enough pipe bandwidth to handle the workload…smoothly, beautifully
-        Not enough 4K TV sets sold to send the stuff to
-        Consumers couldn’t tell the quality difference and they’re not willing to pay for our quality (content and delivery). They’re ripping off too much of our stuff as it is

Introduced in April during the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention in April, the Optical Devices Division of FUJIFILM North America Corporation has announced that the first two lenses in its 4K Ultra HD Series for sports and entertainment applications are available for delivery. The UA22x8 is the first portable zoom lens in the series, and the new UA80X9 is the first field lens.

The Ultra HD Forum, a global advocacy body with a mission to facilitate the adoption of UHD and related technologies, announced today that its membership has grown significantly, as the industry ramps up for UHD commercial deployments. The Ultra HD Forum’s membership has tripled to 20 member companies from the original founding charter members who included Dolby Laboratories, Ericsson, Harmonic, LG Electronics, NeuLion, and Sony.

Ultra HD programming is expected to see strong take-up rates globally, with failure to invest now will mean a failure to tap into its growing premium revenues, according to Alan Crisp, Analyst at satellite industry market research and consulting services firm NSR.

Broadcast Solutions GmbH will show its brand-new member of the Streamline product family of OB Vans. At IBC (Stand 0.B.01) the German company will have the first Streamline 4K OB Van at display. The Streamline S8 4K OB Van pushes the Streamline concept of pre-engineered OB Vans a step further. For the first time Broadcast Solutions combines the field-proven concepts of the Streamline family with 4K technology, enabling the customers to produce with forward-looking OB Vans and to be prepared for 4K productions.

VSM is the overall control system in China’s first 4K OB Van. Jiangsu Broadcast Corporation is one of the biggest broadcasting and media companies and incorporates several terrestrial and satellite TV channels, radio channels as well as newspapers and internet services. In 2015 the company put into service its new 24 camera JSBC 4K OB Van, the first 4K OB Van in China. L-S-B Broadcast Technologies together with local partner NDT took care of implementing VSM into this brand new mobile production vehicle.

Flying in the face of an expected 2% dip in overall sales of all TV screens, the Ultra HD 4KTV market is set to smash the 30 million shipment barrier by the end of 2015, says Futuresource Consulting.
