Q-Ball robotic heads break record for longest-ever HD OB
Camera Corps' Q-Ball robotic HD cameras have successfully completed 100 days of continuous service as a key element of OB coverage from the 4th plinth in London's Trafalgar Square. The cameras were chosen by 021 Television, part of Gravity Media Group, to provide video coverage of Antony Gormley's 'One & Other' project. A total of 2,400 people participated in the event, some promoting their favourite cause or charity while others simply admired the view. The Q-Ball cameras were used from July 6 to October 14, accumulating content for the production of 60 minute reports transmitted on Sky Arts 1 HD each Friday evening. Live HD video from the cameras was also downconverted and streamed for the entire duration of the round-the-clock event via the Sky Arts website www.oneandother.com.

TSE AG produces Berlin Wall spectacular with EV
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, festival organizers engaged street theatre specialists Royal de Luxe to provide a 'gigantic' spectacle. TSG AG of Berlin was responsible for the sound production as the performance wound its way through the docklands. The Electro-Voice equipment deployed included X-Line and XLD line arrays, TG-7 amplifiers and NetMax N8000 controllers.

The Sons of Mannheim, Thomas Godoj, Sasha and Peter Maffay – Record Lab, based in Cologne, Germany, has covered several large-scale broadcast and live recording projects. Most recently they handled a Catholic Church service for the German public broadcaster ZDF. However, one of their most extensive and logistically challenging productions this year was a concert tour in Syria by the Armenian KOHAR Symphony Orchestra. Successful Start of RUHR.2010 with Riedel Intercom and Radio
The organizer of the opening ceremony of RUHR.2010 – the European Capital of Culture – utilized a flexible communications infrastructure to integrate the various parts of the event. Riedel carries the Olympic Torch
Thomas Riedel, founder and Managing Director of Riedel Communications, carried the Olympic Torch during the ceremonial Olympic Torch Relay at this year's Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.

Themed as “Better City – Better Life" the Shanghai Expo 2010 recently started with a spectacular Opening Ceremony, produced by David Atkins Enterprises from Australia, for which a grandMA2 system was used for lighting control. The Fugard Theatre, with performances by the Isango Portobello theatre company recently opened in the District Six area in Cape Town, South Africa. The theatre has been named in honour of Athol Fugard - and it’s not often that a theatre is named after someone in its lifetime. The “Train Driver”, written and directed by Fugard, had its opening night at The Fugard on 24th March, and is being met by sell out houses and standing ovations.

C.A.S. 300 by Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup at the Expo 2010 Shanghai
Early in May 2010, Shanghai Expo officially declared open – using a sound-reinforcement and announcement installation based on the NEXUS and C.A.S. 300 systems by Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup. This compact system comprises static, wired subscriber units and wireless modules plus an integrated solid-state digital audio player with pre-recorded announcements. It has been installed in the Zhejiang Pavilion and is the first C.A.S. 300 installation in China. The setup serves as the public address, stage-management and central control system.
